It could be possible for a carpet to shrink after it has been cleaned, but this is very uncommon and typically happens when  the carpet cleaner has failed to identify the type of construction of the carpet before they start cleaning it.  That’s why we like to visit and carry out a survey of your cleaning requirements. A woven carpet such as an Axminster, Wilton or Belgium Wilton may well shrink if it is not identified and cleaned correctly, using poor cleaning techniques and over wetting this type of carpet could likely result in some shrinkage. We strongly recommend that you chose a suitable trained and qualified cleaning specialist to carry out this cleaning work for you. Look to see if the company is a member of the NCCA (National Carpet Cleaners Association) ( IICRC ) and or wool safe approved.
